MTV Group Hug (2012)
Blobs cuddling in a group hug, colouring the grey scenery more and more in pastels and neon with each tender touch, welcome the viewer to a brand new series of international MTV idents starting April 2nd, 2012 around the world (except in the U.S.). This animation spot follows our first station ident for MTV International in July 2011, "Close & Caring", also created and directed by Mate Steinforth.

Pictoplasma Festival – 2012
This year's Pictoplasma theme, doomsday, inspired the trailer for the world’s largest festival of contemporary character culture to tell a story around a Macy's Day parade full of twisted characters. Far from the gloom and doom which usually goes along end of day stories, our creatures invade a vacant city and make it their own.

Vorwerk - Mite City (2011)
Bright Mites, Big City - this futuristic animation film by Mate Steinforth illustrates the development and destruction of a mite population in only 60 seconds. Enough time for cameos of Hello Kitty bobby pins, bright red lollipops, and - tadah!! - the Vorwerk mite blaster Tiger VT265. And for those who skipped their German classes: "Stadt der Milben" means "Mite City" and "Mehr Saugkraft. Weniger Mitbewohner" reads "More vacuum power. Fewer roommates"!

Virtual Delicacies (2007)
»Virtual Delicacies« was created in 2007 as a collaborative work together with Hendrik-Jan Schoenmaker within the frame of a 2nd year main project by guest professor Guido Ahnert. The task was to develop a trailer for our course of study – Multimedia|VR-Design at the University of Art and Design Halle. At http://cargocollective.com/rosch/Virtual-Delicacies-2007
The project involved the conception as well as the production of the trailer. Our basic Idea behind it was a visual comparison of our very multi-layered course of study to a sandwhich with it’s wide range of ingredients. The realization as a 3D animation in 3DS Max was a logical step, because it would have been way too complicated to use real life footage for our unique concept. In order to save rendering time and have more control in the end, post production in After Effects was one of the key aspects of the project. All in all we used z-depth, object ID and ambient occlusion passes to get to the final composited result
